Why do you use prong and e-collars?

These are the optimal tools to help you communicate with your dog CLEARLY. Time and time again these tools help recreate a new and healthier relationship between owner and dog, most of the time within minutes of using them. While these tools can look scary, when used correctly, they have been proven to be one of the safest, most humane training tools available. We use low level, communication style e-collar training. Low level stimulation has a calming effect which makes them great for dogs with anxiety or fear issues. You can find out more about both tools here.

What is a E-collar and what brand do you use?

E-collar Technologies This tool is used as a way to provide clear communication between yourself and your dog. This is NOT a shock collar, this is a muscle simulator. Equivalent to the TENS unit that is commonly used by doctors on humans to work and relax muscles. Used properly, this tool is extremely versatile and an excellent choice for dogs who are anxious, nervous, reactive, or for obedience training. This tool is not used to cause harm or negative associations. We are here to teach you the proper way to use this tool and we always condition your dog to the collar first.

What is a Prong collar and what brand do you use?

Herm Sprenger Prong collars are another excellent tool used to provide clear communication between yourself and your dog. A common misconception with this tool is that it’s barbaric and meant to inflict pain with constant pressure on the dogs neck. These tools are constantly and consistently misused. Dog’s should never feel pressure of a prong collar unless communication is being given. We use this specific brand over any other, because it is the safest & best designed collar that uses the least amount of pressure when used properly. Prongs are the tool that will primarily address any leash pulling. As with any tool, we will show you how to properly and safely use it, fit it, and condition your dog to it. Do I need to use a dog crate?

Yes! It is okay if your dog isn’t thrilled with the idea of being in a crate at first, one of the first things we teach you is how to properly crate condition your dog and work them through any negative associations with it. A crate should be seen as a place for your dog to escape to, turn off, and relax. The reason why we advocate for the use of crates while you are not home, or asleep, is so that you know your dog is safe and cannot make bad choices during his/her training.

What if I don’t get the results I want from the training? Is there a guarantee?

Due to the many variables in creating a well-behaved, balanced dog, including owner commitment, consistency, and following through, it would be unethical for us to offer a 100% guarantee. However, we choose to only work with the most dedicated and diligent owners, to ensure the dog's rate of success. In our experience, no matter what the dog's issues were, we've consistently seen breakthrough results and life-changing transformations. We've never come across a dog we could not help. We work hand in hand as a team in your dog's training. This process of teamwork and collaboration begins before we even meet your dog, moves through the training process, and continues long after your dog has graduated. Your dog's success is of our utmost priority!
